The DOC have been fantastic for me over the last six months and it's through reading others stories and questions that I feel I can just put down what I'm thinking without being judged - well, I might be being judged but thankfully no-one has told me directly yet.

Whilst I'd be tempted to speak to reps I'm alwsys cautiously against those with a biased view and while their input would be useful I'm certain that it would also be more strongly weighted towards the pros than the cons.

The book has been recommended a few times now and as I seem to be moving closer it would make sense to purchase I think.

Thank you for the feedback, it's really appreciated.

DaveDavehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18262942118896963283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4551617471801016658.post-39994091626413715592011-09-15T08:03:08.065+01:002011-09-15T08:03:08.065+01:00Dave, I like the humble honesty you share. Aside from the *DOC* that is a invaluable resource 24/7 have you thought about calling a couple of the pump companies.

Perhaps if you had any specific concerns you could discuss directly with a rep? Just a thought!

Also the *Pumping Insulin* book by John Walsh is excellent. 12 Quid for a thoroughly informative read. Contains section for MDI'ers looking towards pumping.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05758380342225409429noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4551617471801016658.post-31094702869611741062011-09-14T20:31:26.495+01:002011-09-14T20:31:26.495+01:00Thanks for the comments Mike. I think you go first and then I'll follow ;-)Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18262942118896963283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4551617471801016658.post-921897553386099922011-09-14T19:23:00.506+01:002011-09-14T19:23:00.506+01:00Great post Dave. The potential inconvenience of another fixed-point injection in the day is not lost on me. As for pumping, you and I share a lot of the same thoughts. I've not heard of many total mechanical failures, dodgy sites/sets yes... But I am not quite so concerned about having to check up on it every night. Basal testing in the early days will be a drag, but the carrot of the benefits still dangles in front of me.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09868706401223371920noreply@blogger.com
